The new “Yachtsman” visa allows for passengers and crew of yachts and sailboats to apply for this visa allowing them to stay for a period of three months if the vessel has a flag of a foreign country. The stay can be for one year if registered as a Panamanian vessel. This should help with Panama’s flourishing ship registry.

Nobody shed a tear for the Multi Entry/Exit Visa when it became obsolete with the new immigration law on August 26. This visa was a cash cow for the government and otherwise a senseless, hidden coming-and-going tax for legal residents and visa holders who traveled in and out of Panama.
